News image Adele McNiven Scholarship News image

The Adele McNiven Scholarship is a new award funded by CODAC as a way of honouring one of our founding members, Adele McNiven. Adele truly enjoyed training her dogs more than anything, and we would like to honour her love of agility by helping a promising handler/dog team to continue in CODAC classes when it may not otherwise be possible for them.

The scholarship fund is $440 per year (the cost of one year’s classes). This will be distributed on a per-session basis, so that one handler may receive the award for one session of classes, and another handler for the next session - or it may all be awarded to one student for the year, at the AMS Committee’s discretion.

Eligibility: To be eligible, the handler must have been a CODAC member for one year, must be progressing well in classes and must demonstrate some financial need.

Applications: May be made by the handler, or by their coach. Please email Jan Johnson at tigerlilyfashion@shaw.ca to apply, detailing the handler’s situation. If you are nominating yourself, we will contact your coach(es) for their recommendation(s).
